Weight Loss

Calorie Deficit! You will lose weight if you consume less calories than you burn through activity. It really is that simple! The key to this is the combination of what you eat and drink and your levels of physical activity. A healthy nutritious diet combined with a good level of exercise will result in a healthy weight loss. I can help not only with the physical exercise but can also give advice on your nutrition and where you can make improvements in your diet. My sessions will involve a combination of cardio training and resistance work, to get your heart rate up and your muscles working! I love running and am happy to take cardio sessions outside if that is your preference.

Strength Training

For years I would run between 3-5 times a week incorporating very little or sometimes no weight training into my routine. I always found the gym a bit daunting, not really knowing what to do with the machines or free weights. I now love adding weight training to my weekly routine, knowing that is what is really going to give my metabolism a boost , building lean muscle and therefore burning more calories when my body is at rest.

Running

If you are interested in running as part of your exercise programme it really is a great way to get your heart rate up and improve your cardiovascular health. In fact the benefits of running are endless, your muscle, joint and cartilage strength will all improve, it increases your core stability, your bone density and as importantly the production of endorphins and serotonin in your brain can work wonders for your mental health.

HIIT Training

High Intensity Interval Training is another great way to get your heart rate going , burning those calories and getting rid of unwanted fat. It involves quick bursts of high intensity exercise followed by a short period of rest. These workouts are tough but so effective for fat burning and improving your cardiovascular health.

Pre and Post Natal Exercise

Having had three children myself I am well aware of the adaptations that have to be made whilst exercising during pregnancy and in the months after giving birth. I am qualified in providing programmes designed to allow women to exercise safely and effectively during this time.
